What it argues

A state-commissioned study that identifies cost-effective and equitable pathways for Massachusetts to reach net-zero greenhouse-gas emissions by 2050. It models the energy system as a whole, spanning buildings, transportation, electricity supply, land and non-energy emissions, and compares alternative pathways, showing how choices in one sector change demands and costs in others. The course uses its approach chapter as an example of systems thinking applied to a multi-variable public problem.
