What it argues
NASA’s freely available reference on how the agency practices systems engineering. It organizes the work into a project life cycle of phases separated by key decision points and technical reviews, and describes the common technical processes: stakeholder expectations, requirements, logical decomposition, design, realization, verification, validation and technical management. Its appendices give practical guidance on writing requirements, verification matrices, functional and timing analysis, and integration and review planning.
